Check out Chemo Honeymoon, a new book from Danny May ’76. Probably available other places, but click the link for a description of the book.
Apparently, the official Wayne Central sports schedule I looked at last week which said the Wayne-Midlakes game was Saturday Oct. 9th was incorrect, or the date was changed. The game was played on Friday Oct. 8th. The good news is Wayne won 20-2.
Sorry for the misinformation. Now I need to change my plans for this evening.
Finally had some time to make some improvements in the way user photos are displayed. Instead of one long column of thumbnails with some not-to-important image information being displayed, any user photos will now be displayed in rows of 4 thumbnails. The image title is displayed under the thumbnail. When a photo is clicked, a new window or browser tab opens with that photo enlarged to a screen friendly size (unless the original is small). In the new window, there are Previous/Next links to navigate between the users photos. If there is a Caption (called description when one uploads photos), it is displayed under the photo. Closing that window or tab when complete will return you to the page with the thumbnails.
If you are logged in, you will be able to delete your own photos, and you will be able to edit the Caption. I hope to make the photo title editable as well in the future.
You can add your own photos by going to the Upload a Photo to Your Bio link.
Speaking of photos, the Alumni Photo Album area has mostly only been used by Yours Truly, which is probably to be expected. It really isn’t too difficult to use, and if you are put off by the instructions that recommend resizing photos before uploading, just go ahead and upload them as they are. This is a great place to put reunion photos, old pictures from school days, etc, If you attempt to use this feature and have trouble, let me know. It’s hard for the person who creates the stuff to test it.
In the 12 or so years that Wayne Central has had a football team, I don’t think that there has ever been a more meaningful game, at least in a high school football kind of way. Wayne is 5 – 0 and has a chance to win the Finger Lakes- East league title, which would be a first. This isn’t the last game of the season, but it would go a long way to help the cause. Midlakes is also 5 – 0, and comes to Wayne on Saturday October 9th at 7PM.
So for some cheap entertainment on a Saturday night, come support the Eagles in their game against the Screaming Eagles. It will be a virtual Eaglerama.
