The annual Wayne Wrestling Alumni night is Dec 23rd. Wayne is taking on North Rose-Wolcott and JV start is 6:30, Varsity 7PM.
Since I’ve been keeping track of the number of alumni registrations by class, which has been 4 or 5 years, the Class of 1991 has been either 1st or tied for first. They finally have been overtaken. The Class of 1980 now has the most alumni registrations with 75!
Fran Bianchi is looking for photos of Wayne Alumni either serving in or a veteran of the military for a display at the high school. Prefer photos in uniform if possible. Please send Jpeg photos to or contact Fran Bianchi for more info at:
Thanks!
After defeating a strong HF-L team 2-1 in the quarterfinal game, the Boys Soccer team lost to Aquinas 1-0 on a penalty kick in the Class A semi-final game. After starting tentatively for the first 15 minutes or so, they played Aquinas fairly evenly the rest of the game. A good showing against what is essentially an all-star team.
The Girls Soccer team lost to HF-L in the quarter finals. Girls Volleyball is still competing, I believe after winning the league championship.
Cross Country sectionals are coming up this weekend. Both the boys and girls have good chances to do well in the team standings.

The Wayne Eagles face Aquinas Thursday Nov. 5 7:30PM at Spencerport HS.
After a spammer used this website to contact some number of users, I have spent some time trying to figure out the best countermeasures. Since the dimwit utilized the Alumni Directory Contact Form I immediately removed that feature. So if you have received one of these obvious scam emails from Wayne Alumni E-mail after Oct 16th around noon, please let me know (check the actual received date, not when opened).
After the initial panic of thinking I left some type of security hole in the website, a couple of days of looking things over has me somewhat relieved. All of the current protections worked as intended. The most feared abuse is a spambot that can automatically gain access to a form and send out large numbers of emails. This didn’t happen. I also don’t believe email addresses were compromised. It seems that this particular moron just did it manually, or maybe with some automation, but it certainly was not very effective, at least if quantity is important. I didn’t think anyone would be that desperate to go after this relatively small number of people the hard way. But its hard to figure out how an imbecile thinks.
But they did, and I have made some further changes to alleviate the problem. The Alumni Directory E-Mail is back on, but you will have to wait if you want to contact more than one person at-a-time. If you have any problems with it, or get any more of these bogus emails, please let me know.
For years spammers have been trying to gain access to this website. There have been thousands of failed attempts of spambots trying to either register at the site or spam any of the forms on the site. Up until now, the built-in protections have worked.
We had our first instance of a spammer actually going to the trouble of writing a program or manually contacting a large number of alumni, which seems like a lot of work for 1850 possible customers. For now, I have disabled the contact form until I find a better solution.
Thanks to everyone who alerted me to the spam emails they received.
I will be closely monitoring the website for more trouble. I will also likely take a look at adding more safeguards to the email form. Thanks for your patience.
The Alumni Association of Ontario High School & the Wayne Central School District is pleased to announce its annual dinner meeting scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2009. This event is open to anyone who graduated from those schools – regardless of the year. The cost this year is $8 per person, or a $60 lifetime membership which would cover the admission this year for all the alumni in your household. We will be meeting at the Lodge at Casey Park 6551 Knickerbocker Rd. in Ontario, starting at noon. There will be a pot luck meal at 1pm. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table setting. Drinks, cups and napkins will be provided. As always (since 1917), the “brown derby” will go to the graduating class with the most attendees, so contact old classmates & encourage them to help you take the derby home! Also, each year the Association presents a gift to the school and/or the town. If you’re unable to attend this year, please send in $6 annual dues (or lifetime dues) and register so you’ll be sure to get the information about next year’s event. Bring your pictures, and join us for an afternoon of warm memories.
