How Did Wayne Central Get it’s Name?

How did Wayne Central obtain its name?

Over 40 names for new Central school were submitted by students of the Centralized area. It was decided by the Board to each make first, second and third choice – first choice to receive 3 points second choice 2 points and third choice 1 point – the name receiving the highest score to be the name chosen.

Result:
Wayne Central – 22
Anthony Wayne – 10
Northwestern Central – 9
Western Wayne – 9
Walworth – Ontario Central – 2
Ontario – Walworth Central – 4

Wayne Central declared name chosen.

Mr. Markhaw discussed briefly the teacher situation. He also announced that the winner of the prize offered for a name for the school had been won by Mildred Augustine of Ontario

Class of 74 Golf Outing

If anyone from the Class of 74 is planning to play golf on Sept. 20 during the 50th Reunion weekend, please contact Rick Lang ASAP so he can get a count and make plans at OGC.

Wayne 2024 Winter AGR Awards

The 2024 All Greater Rochester Awards are out, and Wayne figured prominently in Boys basketball. Cameron Blankenberg was selected Player of the Year, and PJ Ostrowski was also selected to the team. Bill Thomson was selected as Coach of the Year.

Leah Burke was also selected for Girls bowling.
