Jennifer Kuhner Howard
Jennifer Kuhner-Howard is our 1st inductee. Jen was a 1997 graduate of Wayne Central. Her soccer career at Wayne started with her getting pulled up to varsity for sectionals as a freshman where they played their game in a whiteout blizzard. During the next 3 seasons Jen was a starter at midfield, playing center midfield her junior and senior years. During her junior and senior years, Jen was among the leading scorers in both goals and assists. During her senior season she was named team captain and earned 1st team all league, while being named to the Democrat and Chronicle ARG honorable mention team.
Additionally her senior year she helped her team win the Wayne County League Championship and was named Wayne County Times Athlete of the Week. In addition to playing for Wayne, Jen also made the Olympic Development Program and played 2 years on their Eastern Regional Team.
Following graduation from Wayne, Jen attended St. John Fisher College, where she played and started 4 years at center midfield and was in the top 3 in goals and assists during her 4 years there. During her junior and senior seasons, Jen was named captain of the team.
Jen graduated from Fisher with a Bachelors in Science in Biology then went on to attend RIT where she earned a BS degree in Physicians assistant, where she currently works for Rochester Regional as a surgical Physician assistant and has done so for 18 years.
Currently Jen coaches both of her children’s teams and is the head coach of the Wayne United 2009 Boys team, assistant coach of the Churchville Cheetah’s 2008 girls team and holds a National D Level Coaching License. Congrats Jen
Trevor Loucks
Trevor’s journey in soccer began with his early days playing premier soccer for Rochester Futbol Club and Rochester Jr. Rhinos. His talent was evident from a young age, as he transitioned from junior varsity as an 8th grader to varsity as a freshman, showcasing his skill, dedication, and passion for the game. Throughout his high school career, Trevor’s stellar performances on the field earned him numerous accolades, including being named 1st team All Greater Rochester in his senior year and 1st team All Finger Lakes in both his junior and senior years. His exceptional abilities were recognized when he was named MVP in his final season, a testament to his impact on the field. One of Trevor’s crowning achievements came during his senior year when he led the Wayne Central Boys Varsity Soccer Team to the sectional finals for the first time since 1974, a historic moment that mirrored the success of his father, Bryan Loucks, who was also inducted into the hall of fame in 2023. Trevor’s ability to follow in his father’s footsteps while carving out his own legacy speaks to his talent, determination, and dedication to the sport. Trevor’s soccer journey continued at the collegiate level, where he accepted a full scholarship to play for Lee University alongside his brother, Jamey Loucks, a fellow hall of fame inductee. Their partnership on the field exemplified the Loucks brothers’ shared passion for the game and their commitment to excellence, further solidifying Trevor’s status as a standout player at every level of competition. As Trevor prepares to be inducted into the Wayne Soccer hall of fame, it is a testament to his remarkable career and the lasting impact he has had on the soccer community. His journey from local leagues to collegiate success is a testament to his talent, hard work, and love for the game. Congratulations, Trevor, on this well-deserved honor. Your legacy in soccer will continue to inspire others for generations to come
Brittany Maggio
Brittany Maggio was a 2013 graduate of Wayne. She started her career as the 2nd ever 8th grader to play varsity, where she played 5 total seasons as a striker, center midfielder and outside midfielder. During her 5 seasons she scored 81 goals, breaking the girls scoring record for most goals in a career at Wayne. In 2012, her senior year, she was named to the prestigious Democrat and Chronicle AGR 1st team while also being named Finger Lakes East Player of the Year after scoring 28 goals and adding 7 assists. This helped lead the team to a record of 13-2-2 and making the team back to back league champions. Brittany was named team MVP and was named 4th team all state.
During her high school years, Brittany also played club soccer for Empire United and Doug Miller Soccer, while also being part of the Wayne basketball and track and field teams.
Following graduation from Wayne, Brittany was offered a soccer scholarship to play at D-2 Roberts Wesleyan, but ultimately decided to play at Finger Lakes Community College for 2 years before graduating from St. John Fisher College with a degree in Business Management.
While at FLCC Brittany was named NJCAA and NSCAA All-American as a freshman and NJCAA Region III Player of the Year. She tied the school record with 37 goals in a season in 2013 and went on to break the school record with 60 career goals, a record that still stands today. Additionally, in 2013, Brittany had a 11 game goal scoring streak and was ranked #1 in the nation for NJCAA goals scored.
Following college, Brittany moved to Melbourne, Florida with her fiancé Zach and their dog Rylie. Brittany works for L3Harris Technologies in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. She continues to play soccer recreationally in Florida.
Dave Metcalfe
David graduated from Wayne Central in 1978, where he played soccer under the guidance of Hall of Fame coaches Tom Gentile and Chuck Imhoff. His performance on the field earned him a spot on the first team of the Wayne County League All-Star Soccer team, selected for the prestigious Coaches Award, and contributed to his team capturing the Wayne County Class B title during his senior year. David’s passion for soccer began in seventh grade and continued to flourish throughout his high school years, culminating in being scouted for a tryout with the NASL Dallas Tornado professional soccer team.
After high school, David attended John Wesley College in Michigan, where he played a collective role in his team’s second-place finish in the NCCAA Division 1 National Soccer Championship against Messiah College. His commitment to the sport extended beyond college, as he played several seasons with the Wayne Wings Soccer Club while coaching all of his children at some point in their soccer careers. Beyond soccer, David has competed in numerous marathons, 5k races, and mini-triathlons.
Academically, David graduated summa cum laude with an Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology from Alfred State College in 1981 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1985.
In his professional career, David made notable contributions as an electronic engineer and imaging scientist at both Xerox and Kodak. His innovative work is highlighted by a portfolio of over 50 authored and co-authored U.S. patents.
On a personal note, David is married to his high school sweetheart, Robin Lasch, who is also a 1978 Wayne Central High School alumna. Together, they have three children—Erin, Ryan, and Hollie— and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren.
Mark Metcalfe
Mark Metcalfe is a 1980 graduate of Wayne Central. He found his passion for soccer in his backyard on Paddy Lane, playing street soccer with his brother, Dave and his neighbors, the Lang brothers. He started playing competitively in seventh grade and continued to grow as a player in high school under the guidance of Hall-of-Famer Tom Gentile, earning second team All -County honors in his junior year. In his senior year, Mark was coached by Hall-of-Famer Chuck Imhoff where he Co-Captained the team and earned MVP honors, outstanding defender, and All -County honors as a First Team Player.
Mark went on to be a four-year varsity player at NCAA Division I Oneonta State University as a Defender/Forward, he started 41 of 54 games vs teams including Hartwick, Syracuse, Cornell, Eastern Illinois, St. John’s, UNC Charlotte, and Army. As a freshman he helped propel the Red Dragons to an ECAC Division I NY Regional Championship. He was third in points for Oneonta in his Senior year after being selected to the Oneonta Mayor’s Cup All-Tournament Team, the longest running Division I collegiate soccer tournament in the nation.
Mark was the recipient of the Jeff Gaudet Memorial Scholarship and in the Spring season played in games vs NASL Tampa Bay Rowdies and ASL Rochester Flash. He played Club Soccer for Wayne Wings and Rochester Juniors in the premier division of the Rochester District Soccer League and during summer recess was a student coach for the Oneonta Red Dragon Soccer School.
Following his playing career, Mark pursued his coaching license, earning a USSF National D license. His love of soccer transferred to his two boys, Alex and Ian, where he coached them as young players in the Marion Soccer Club, Wayne Wings Soccer Club and Doug Miller Soccer. Both went on to play at Nazareth University. In 2006 Mark began coaching at Marion as the boys Junior Varsity Coach and top Assistant Varsity Coach. Over an 18-year coaching career at Marion, he helped the Black Knights to the Section V Class C Championship Final eight times, winning the Championship twice, in 2010 and 2016. In 2011, he was honored as the Section V Assistant Coach of the Year. Most proudly, Mark mentored 178 student athletes over his 18-year career at Marion, sharing his vision of the ‘beautiful game’ with new generations of players. Congrats Mark!
