The game was close most of the way with Canandaigua holding a few point lead until near the end of the 3rd quarter. Wayne tied it several times and took the lead in the fourth quarter, but Canandaigua came back with a couple of minutes to go and made most of their foul shots when Wayne fouled to stop the clock.

Jan. 28, 2000

Opponent: Mynderse

Final Score: Mynderse 63 – Wayne 62

Mynderse had some help from the referees as they hit a questionable 3 -pointer as the buzzer sounded. It appeared as though the ball was still in the shooters hand as the buzzer went off, and his foot was on the 3 point line. The ref who allowed the shot and called it a three was still at the far end of the court.

Mynderse also benefitted by having time added back on the clock. Tim Bauer was fouled shooting, and .5 sec was left in the game. The game clock was reset to 1.3 sec, and after Bauer made both free throws, Mynderse made a long pass downcourt .

Wayne was playing without Jay Greene who has a foot injury. Ben Lester had a great offensive game to help make up for it.

Final Score: Victor 69 – Wayne 52

King 14 pts
Marrero 14 pts

Without Jay Greene (out with the flu), Wayne had a hard time matching up with Victor, who had a height advantage at every position. After falling behind early, Bob King and Adam Luke stepped up to help take up the scoring slack and at halftime was even with Victor, 29 – 29. Wayne went cold in the 3rd quarter and could not get a rally going in the 4th.
